The program aims to empower women in the Australian music industry.
Australian Independent Labels Association (AIR) has revealed a new mentoring and training program aimed at empowering female-identifying and gender-nonconforming members, either current and aspiring, of the Australian music industry.
The Women in Music Mentor Program will be available nationwide to female-identifying and GNC creatives as well as those interested in technical and business roles within the music industry.
Mentees will be paired with mentors across a five-month period in which they will receive professional development training, attend workshops with industry professionals and leaders and be given opportunities within their chosen area of the industry. Applicants at any stage of their career are invited to apply.
The program will be hosted annually from 2020 until 2023 and is designed to assist with career and leadership pathways, strategic decision making and corporate governance as well as focusing on developing skills for contract negotiation, financial literacy, marketing and leadership.
“We look forward to delivering this program over the next four years and to working collaboratively with industry professionals, mentors and mentees across Australia,’ said AIR General Manager, Maria Amato.
Applications are now open and close on Friday July 31. Apply or find out more via the AIR website.
