Augie March are celebrating two decades of Moo, You Bloody Choir with a national tour.

Released in 2006, the Melbourne band’s third album became an instant Australian classic, propelled by the success of One Crowded Hour. That track snagged the number one spot on triple j’s Hottest 100 and reached number 29 on the ARIA Singles charts, but the entire 14-track record proved to be far more than a one-hit wonder.

Moo, You Bloody Choir achieved Platinum status, won the Australian Music Prize, and earned multiple ARIA Award nominations. Now, Augie March will perform the album in its entirety for the first time ever, alongside fan favourites from their eight-album catalogue.

Starting in Perth before moving through Adelaide and Melbourne, the tour wraps up in Brisbane across April 2026. Presale kicks off Monday 1 December at 9am local time, with general public tickets available from Tuesday 2 December at 9am.

Recorded in San Francisco following a gruelling two-month North American tour, Moo, You Bloody Choir marked a significant stylistic shift from the band’s 2002 album Strange Bird. Keyboardist Kiernan Box recalls the tumultuous recording process, which included sessions in Chicago’s Tenderloin district at the studio that housed Creedence Clearwater Revival’s best work.

From the warm melancholy of One Crowded Hour through to the aching acoustic beauty of Bottle Baby and the otherworldly elegance of Clockwork, the album weaves together indie rock, pop, folk and country influences across its meticulously sequenced runtime. Tracks like Victoria’s Secret, The Cold Acre, Mother Greer and Just Passing Through showcase the band’s poetic prowess and ambitious creative exploration.

Hailing mostly from Shepparton, Victoria, Augie March formed in the mid-to-late 90s and released their debut album Sunset Studies in 2000. Following Moo, You Bloody Choir’s release, the band toured the record at home and in North America for three solid years, cementing their cult following into an enduring and expansive fanbase.

Beyond the anniversary tour, frontman Glenn Richards is currently recording his next solo project, which is set for UK and European release in 2026. Meanwhile, the band promises these special shows will be anything but routine, treating the songs with equal parts respect and creative reinterpretation while maintaining the power and intimacy that define their best performances.

Twenty years on, Moo, You Bloody Choir remains a defining record in Australian music history, and this tour offers fans a rare opportunity to experience the album as a complete work from start to finish.
