Cementing themselves as the newest home for live music in Melbourne’s South-East, The Count’s are about to welcome their resident artist for June, Audrey Powne. Housed in the Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts at Monash University, The Count’s is a sophisticated jazz oasis right in the middle of the suburbs, and your new home for live music in Melbourne’s South-East.
The budding phenom, Audrey Powne is a name synonymous in both jazz and R&B circles with ingenuity and inventiveness. Having previously fronted outfits ‘Leisure Centre’ (F.K.A. The Do Yo Thangs) and genre defying synth- pop duo ‘Au Dré.’, the Trumpeter/Vocalist released her first solo EP Bed I Made in 2020, to praise from Earmilk, NME, and BBC Radio 6 presenter Gilles Peterson, who went on to commission her for a track on his Brownswood Recordings Compilation and premiered her debut single on his BBC show.
Audrey will be joined by special guest performances from Brett Williams (2 June), Julien Wilson (9 June), Felix Bloxsom (16 June), Paul Grabowsky (23 June) and Barney Mcall (30 June).
