Museum Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at four distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.
About The Position:
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Producer will be to assist in the exhibition development and production process. The position will also be accountable for assisting the Exhibition Project Manager, Touring Hall in the project administration and documentation.
Notable skill sets required for this position include:
• Experience in the development of exhibitions in a museum or comparable environment, including detailed knowledge of the process, involving design, documentation, production and installation
• High level communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in coordinating graphic, label and multimedia content production
• Advanced skills in the use of computer programs such as word, excel, outlook and other computer packages
The successful applicant will have the ability to plan, manage and organise work activities according to strict timelines manage exhibition content for production and installation and manage multiple project elements simultaneously. The successful applicant will also have highly developed administrative and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
