Leading the charge this year is none other than the legendary Grammy Award-winning supergroup, Asleep at the Wheel. After half a century of touring the globe, this American Western swing powerhouse is set to make their highly anticipated Australian debut. Founder Ray Benson and his talented cohorts are bringing their extensive repertoire of chart-topping country hits all the way from Austin, Texas, to grace the Out on the Weekend stage. Joining them for an unforgettable performance are original member Lucky Oceans, Australian resident and longtime collaborator, as well as the rising stars of the Americana genre, Joshua Hedley and Brennen Leigh.

Asleep at the Wheel’s journey began on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, and led them to become a cornerstone of the vibrant Austin music scene in 1973. With their deep-rooted inspiration in western swing and honky-tonk country, the band has earned an impressive ten Grammy Awards and released over twenty albums.

Sharing the limelight with the musical festivities is the return of the beloved Cripple Creek Ferry. This limited-capacity gem, known for its joyous rides and cowboy-hatted revelers, offers a fine ferry experience from Docklands to Williamstown and back. Embark on a delightful journey with surprise musical acts, complimentary snacks, and a fully stocked bar to keep the good times flowing. And as a memento of this unforgettable night, each passenger will receive a hand-printed, commemorative poster.

Hosted at the historic maritime haunt of Seaworks in Williamstown, Out on the Weekend celebrates its 9th year of bringing together top-notch talent and dedicated fans. While Asleep at the Wheel steals the spotlight for now, stay tuned for more exciting artist announcements.
