APRA Unveils Song Of The Year Contenders

These will be voted for by the 87,000 members of APRA and its sister association AMCOS (Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society). They have until Tuesday April 29 to vote.

The songs are, alphabetically, A Moat You Can Stand In – The Drones, Alive – Empire of the Sun, Avenger – The Bamboos, Battleships – Bernard Fanning, Bayini – Gurrumul Yunupingu, Covered In Chrome – Violent Soho, The Game – Flume & Chet Faker, God Fearing – Sarah Blasko and The Slavey Folklore Quartet, Harlequin Dream – Boy And Bear, Is This How You Feel – The Preatures, Jubilee Street – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Lanterns – Birds of Tokyo, Only One – John Butler Trio, Resolution – Matt Corby, Riptide – Vance Joy, Southern Sun – Boy And Bear, Steal The Light – The Cat Empire, Under Your Skin – Dan Sultan, We Are – Karnivool and We No Who U R – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

The winner will be announced at the 2014 APRA Music Awards, held on Monday June 23 at the Brisbane City Hall.
