Here are ten facts about Andrew O’Neill…

Apart from being one of the hottest Comedians in the UK and having featured in good news week, spicks and specks and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala – here are ten facts about Andrew O’Neill.

His fans include the comic book writer Alan Moore and the musician Amanda Palmer, for whom Andrew opened for in London. He is in a Victorian-themed punk band called The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing. It was his Adelaide-born ex-girlfriend that encouraged him to try stand-up. He is vegan. He is a (heterosexual) transvestite. (But doesn’t look shit.) He is absolutely, categorically NOT a goth. He is a massive metalhead, and spent the English summer last year doing stand-up at metal festivals including the legendary Download Festival at Castle Donnington. On top of all the Australian television he has done (Spicks And Specks, Good News Week) he has just filmed a set for inclusion in Stewart Lee’s new TV show. He appeared alongside Steve Coogan in the sitcom Saxondale. Last week he unwittingly swam in shark-infested water. And is still shaking…

Andrew O’Neill will perform Out Of Step at Trades Hall’s Meeting Room from March 31 – April 24. It’s at 8.30pm Tuesday – Saturday and 7.30pm on Sundays. Tickets are $20 – $25 and are available through Ticketmaster online, 1300 660 013 and at the door.
