ANDREW MCSWEENEY and the Wishing Horse

Andrew McSweeney and the Wishing Horse play Kindred Bandroom to launch their new album Mountain Song, with support from Josh Aitken, Saturday 21 March from 2pm.

Andrew has spent the past few years writing songs which resonate with his heart, producing an album of profoundly beautiful and meaningful songs which transport the listener from the Ganges to the mountains of northern India, from weaving by the banks of a creek to the humility of a homeward journey. At times triumphant, sometimes reflective, always with the calm assurance of a songman in his prime.

The Wishing Horse have been playing music with Andrew over the past 2 years, developing a nuanced ability to listen and follow each other’s musical flow. Tracks build and flow through highs and lows in a dynamic interplay of musical ideas. Michael Ingvarson (Babba) on piano and album production; John Fleming (Scared Weird Little Guys) on guitar; Gabriella Favretto, voice; long-time collaborator Glen King on drums; and Kelly Billingham on bass.
