Instrument of Change: Visions of the Guitar in the Early Twentieth Century will cover the evolution of the guitar in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras when fretted instruments such as Spanish 12-string classical guitars and Hawaiian ukuleles became popular.
The display will feature more than 27 different instruments from manufacturers including Gibson, Epiphone and Maton. The exhibition will also focus on the person for whom the museum was purpose-built, Percy Grainger, and his engagement with the guitar.
