Amyl and the Sniffers just won a whopping $30,000 music prize

The band are taking the world by storm.

Melbourne punk rock outfit Amyl and the Sniffers have just earned themselves a little extra pocket money after winning the $30,000 Levi’s Music Prize.

The prize winners were decided by an international panel of judges, which goes to show the growing influence the Melbourne four-piece are starting to build up. Amyl and the Sniffers have just revealed plans to head on a European stint, in addition to flying over to the US for the mammoth SXSW festival lineup.

“The cash is gonna come in really handy this year, it’s gonna get us on the road for SXSW and our upcoming tours and we’re super grateful,” the Sniffers said.

Their new record is set to be released in May this year. With a bit more dosh and an international circuit in the works, it’s looking like we can expect a new challenger on the global punk stage. Here’s hoping they never tone down their unique brand of classiness.
