Amandula began as a pandemic project for Andy Fillmore. Burnt-out, the almost yearlong lockdown of Melbourne gave Andy the opportunity to heal through music. With the pandemic under way Andy began work recording in the garage. Emerging a year and a half later with the debut album “Under a blood moon”. Dubbing the project “Amandula” the Latin term for Almond – an ancient symbol of wholeness, “Under a blood moon” ebbs, flows, twists and turns taking the listener on a journey through 8 introspective and emotionally charged songs of love, loss, self-worth and self-acceptance…

Together with special guest Danni Thomas. Danni has played music across a wide range of bands, duos and as a soloist spanning 20 years across the globe. She released her first EP, Yours for Keeping, in 2006 and her latest EP, Walk Me Home, was recorded and released in London in 2017. With influences including soul and pop, Danni’s songwriting encompasses a sense of heartfelt lyrics and melodies that are raw and honest and tell stories of life, love and everything in between.
