The Victorian government's ALWAYS LIVE program is expanding beyond Melbourne, launching a new free regional live music series called Victorian Vibes.
ALWAYS LIVE Victorian Vibes will deliver pop-up performances across towns in Ballarat, Gippsland, the Goldfields, the Bellarine, the Murray and along the Great Ocean Road.
The series builds on the momentum of Melbourne Vibes, which planted surprise performances across the city over summer. ALWAYS LIVE Victorian Vibes takes the same format — contemporary artists performing unannounced sets in streets, venues and unexpected locations — and drops it into regional communities. A new town will host events every second weekend through to late June.

The series kicks off in Ballarat on 18 April, with specific artists and locations kept under wraps until closer to each event. All pop-up performance sites will be within walking distance of regional railway stations, and public transport is free across Victoria throughout April, with V/Line fares capped year-round.
The program is backed by the Victorian government as part of broader efforts to support the state’s live music industry and drive visitors into regional towns, cafes, restaurants and accommodation.
Further artist and location announcements will roll out in the lead-up to each event.
