alt-J's The Dream Tour and An Awesome Wave 10th anniversary album shows rescheduled to April-May 2023.

“Due to the new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post pandemic world, we have sadly, after much debate, been forced to reschedule the Australian & New Zealand leg of The Dream tour to 2023,” say alt-J. They were originally set to perform in September this year, but their Melbourne show has been rescheduled to May 2 and 3.

What you need to know

  • alt-J’s Melbourne shows, originally scheduled for September this year, have been postponed for 2023
  • They’re set to perform on May 2 and 3, 2023
  • Current ticket holders don’t need to do anything, your tickets will still be valid for the new dates

“We are so sorry to disappoint all our fans down under who have already bought tickets for these shows, expecting them to take place next month. You have always been so supportive and we are really looking forward to seeing you next year.”

Tickets for the original performances will be valid for the rescheduled dates without taking further action. Patrons unable to attend new show dates may obtain a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted to the official ticketing agent prior to Wednesday 28 September 2022.

Unfortunately, alt-J won’t be able to play their scheduled Adelaide Entertainment Centre show on the 2023 run and hope to return to South Australia soon.

Ticketholders for the Adelaide show need take no further action and will be contacted directly via the original ticketing agency to advise on refunds.

alt-J are one of the most successful British bands of the millennium. Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Sonny Green have released four studio albums that, between them, have sold in excess of two million copies and their songs have been streamed over two and a half billion times. Their 2012 Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award-winning debut An Awesome Wave, was followed two years later by their number one, GRAMMY and BRIT Award-nominated album This Is All Yours. Released in 2017, RELAXER flew straight into the top 10 of the UK albums chart ahead of a summer of major international shows – including a headline show at London’s O2 Arena and headline performances at numerous festivals – and became their second album to be nominated for the Mercury Prize.

In Australia, all four of alt-J’s albums have debuted in the ARIA top ten – An Awesome Wave (#9 peak), This Is All Yours (#2 peak), RELAXER (#4 peak) and The Dream (#6 peak).

An Awesome Wave (2022 reissue) is available on white vinyl and other formats (via Liberator Music here).
