Expect to find bands, DJ’s, local food and drinks in an outdoor pop-up space in the heart of Bendigo.
Regional Victoria has a new festival to look forward to with ‘Almost Summer’, the brand-new three-day celebration of warmer days, good times and even better tunes.
Debuting at the very end of Spring, from Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27, Almost Summer is bringing along a huge lineup of local artists and burgeoning and established acts from across the country to an outdoor pop-up event space outside the iconic Capital Theatre, in the heart of Bendigo’s View St Arts Precinct.

Created by Melbourne creative agency Hear Them Holler and announced as part of Always Live, there will be 16 acts gracing the new open-air stage, ranging from squelchy pop-disco and wistful folk to alt-country and new-school RnB, providing an expansive experience for every kind of music lover.
Expect to see the likes of Electronic trio Black Cab, alt-folk singer-songwriter Gabriella Cohen, synth pop revivalist Geoffrey O’Connor, indie guitar-pop outfit Cool Sounds, Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung singer-songwriter Carissa Nyalu, psychedelic pop experts Sunfruits, hip hop legend Pookie as well as esteemed artists Phoebe Go, Greatest Hits, Sunfruits, Freeds and Suzi and locals Nadia Phillips, Flora and Aplegate with DJs Joey Lightbulb and DJ Friday.
Melbourne’s Banangun will also be bringing along their unique brand of 60s and 70s afrobeat and exotica to Fela Kuti-esque repetition to the stage, alongside an unmissable performance from all-female First Nations act from the Red Centre, Kardajala Kirridarra – the first since their Naarm show in 2018.
Adding to all that there’ll also be locally sourced liquid refreshments and food available, as well as summer fruits and creamy cool ice-creams and icy-poles on offer to keep your dance energy levels at an optimum. And if you’re looking to add to your vinyl collection and support the artists on the bill, Bendigo Vinyl will host a pop-up record store throughout the event.

“Curating Almost Summer Music Festival has been a dream come true. We’re getting to put on a festival that we want to go to! We’re beyond excited to have booked Kardajala Kirridarra – a band I’ve personally fawned over and who haven’t played in Victoria for over four years,” says Creative Director of Hear Them Holler Lior Albeck-Ripka says.
“Whilst we’re all experiencing one of the coldest winters ever in Victoria, we are busy planning this super fun all inclusive festival of great music and food. We want the experience to be easy, relaxed and fun, and we’re thinking of all the things audiences will want so we have them on the ground ready to go.”
Almost Summer will be capped at 500 tickets per day, offering a cosy, intimate and boutique festival. A full festival pass can be purchased for $150, or single day tickets will be available ranging from $42 – $82.
