Hey there, who are we speaking with and what will we expect from your show at the tenth Carlton Dry AIR Awards.
Hey, this is Harts. I play all the instruments, compose and produce all of my music as a solo artist.
The performance day will offer punters a look into the versatility of Australia’s ever-growing Independent music scene. What elements of your sound make you stand out?
My blend of blues rock, funk, soul and pop is something that I think has helped me stand out. A lot of that comes from my guitar playing, which has been a major factor in helping me get attention.
Why is it important for people to continue to support and encourage Independent artists in 2015?
The music business is tough and it can be very difficult to get your name out there, gain opportunities, allow yourself to stand out and to connect with people. Being independent can give artists the freedom to really control all aspects of their music, musical vision and endeavours. The artists that work hard, work their own business and manage to break through in the industry, should be congratulated for their efforts and encouraged moving forward.
HARTS is performing at the tenth annual Carlton Dry AIR Awards on Thursday October 22 at Meat Market in North Melbourne. He’ll be playing alongside Airling, Bad//Dreems, Dead Letter Circus and Frank Yamma.
