Adventure Park’s magical Christmas Festival of Lights returns

Words by Talia Rinaldo

Geelong’s magical Christmas wonderland returns.

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly underway for 2020, and after an incredibly tough year on everyone where we’ve been locked away from our friends and family, this festival season suddenly feels more magical and special than ever before… especially following a time where the biggest joys have been finding toilet paper on the shelves and news of falling positive cases.

To help us feed our insatiable hunger for all things festive, Adventure Park is firing up Christmas with two million lights in their loved Christmas Festival of Lights.

Launching for the first time last year, the Christmas Festival of Lights was a spectacle that saw crowds flock to see the magic of Christmas come to life in a dazzling glowing wonderland, giving families, couples and friends a chance to truly embrace that festival spirit.

This year there is a whopping two million shimmering lights over a 1.5km walking trail that will illuminate Geelong’s night sky once again. More than a dozen new immersive and three-dimensional installations have been added to an already spectacular display celebrating all things Christmas. From a majestic golden archway, and giant walk-through present, to a Santa selfie and a massive shooting star, these installations make for the most perfect photo opps!

Further highlights this year include the North Pole Winter Wonderland with penguins, polar bears and snowmen; a magic garden with a unicorn surrounded by stunning fields of flowers, an enchanted fairy garden; Cinderella carriage; race car; steam train; and a candy land where gingerbread houses and lollies come to life; monkeys, emojis, shooting stars and more!

There’s also a new chill-out zone where you can kick back on bean bags under a scene of floating, glittering umbrellas and enjoy some snacks and music.

Early advance bookings are essential and only online pre-purchased tickets will be available for the Christmas Festival of Lights.

The Christmas Festival of Lights will run daily until December 24, from 6pm to 10:30pm at Adventure Park Geelong. Visit www.christmasfestivaloflights.com for tickets and more info.
