American comedian Adam Ray is hauling his wildly popular Dr. Phil parody across the Pacific for a run of Australian dates in June.
If you’ve spent any time on the internet lately, chances are you’ve stumbled across Ray’s uncanny take on the moustachioed TV psychologist. The Los Angeles-based comedian has racked up more than 50 million views online with his Dr. Phil character, which eventually landed him a Netflix special and turned his live show into one of the hottest tickets in American comedy.
The Dr. Phil LIVE experience isn’t your standard stand-up set. Ray has built the show around a loose late-night talk show format, complete with audience interactions, surprise character appearances and a rotating door of celebrity guests.
Adam Ray Is Dr. Phil

Previous shows have featured everyone from Dave Chappelle and Bill Burr to Nikki Glaser, Bobby Lee, Mark Normand and Andrew Santino, alongside musical guests like Boyz II Men, Jelly Roll and Teddy Swims.
Beyond the bald cap and fake moustache, Ray has carved out a solid career as an actor and comedian in his own right. You might recognise him from appearances in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hacks, MadTV, Pam & Tommy and The Heat. He also popped up in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
Brisbane fans will need to act fast or miss out entirely, with that show already sold out. Sydney and Melbourne still have tickets available for anyone keen to catch one of comedy’s stranger success stories.
