Wallace and Gromit and Friends: The Magic of Aardman will delve into 40 years of animation and claymation prowess from Aardman – who have created the likes of Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Creature Comforts and Chicken Run.
Exclusive to ACMI, the exhibition will feature more than 350 objects, taking audiences behind the scenes on an Aardman production showing original artworks, sketchbooks, concept drawings, storyboards, puppets and sets, as well as offering a look at Aardman’s forthcoming 2018 film, Early Man.
Audiences will be given the chance to see Wallace’s inventions firsthand, as well as Gromit’s famous vegetable garden, Shaun the Sheep sets, the flying machine from Chicken Run, and the spectacular 5-metre tall ship from The Pirates! – all coming to Australia for the first time.
