@dylanalcott What it takes to build @Ability Fest – the most disabilty accessible and inclusive festival in the world!! #abilityfest #music #festival @DAF
As Australia’s only fully accessible and inclusive music festival, Ability Fest is built with dedicated infrastructure including elevated viewing platforms, sensory zones, quiet areas, Auslan interpreters, live captioning, strobe-free lighting, accessible parking and bathrooms, a designated assistance dog area and BindiMaps wayfinding technology. Free companion tickets are also available for carers.
The festival was created by 2022 Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott AO in collaboration with Untitled Group, and is supported by triple j and the Victorian government. As a not-for-profit, 100% of proceeds go to the Dylan Alcott Foundation, with the festival having raised over $1.5 million to date.
This year marks a shift to an 18+ format and a fully electronic program, leaning into The Timber Yard’s reputation as one of Melbourne’s go-to spots for dance music. Tickets are priced at $60, with presale access opening on 25 February.
