The self-proclaimed most dangerous band in Melbourne - The Counterfeiters - are playing classic spaghetti western soundtracks at Brunswick Ballroom next month.
The band describe their act as gunslingers, bandidos, outlaws and the Wild West – they had us at gunslingers.
It’s a tribute to the incredible Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and trumpeter Ennio Morricone that spans the length and breadth of the spaghetti western genre that resulted in so many of the greatest films and soundtracks of all time.
Morricone’s film credits alone are endless; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, Cinema Paradiso, The Battle of Algiers, Dario Argento’s Animal Trilogy, 1900, Exorcist II, Days of Heaven, The Thing, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, The Untouchables, Mission to Mars, Bugsy, Disclosure, In the Line of Fire, Bulworth, Ripley’s Game, and The Hateful Eight, just to name a few.
