An anti-slop exhibition blending live performance, expanded cinema and digital infrastructure lands at NCM this June.
Your feed is full of garbage, and PSEUDO wants to do something about it.
NCM X PSEUDO: Stigmergy is a new exhibition landing at the National Communication Museum as part of RISING, running from 4 June through to 9 August. The show pitches itself as a direct response to the rage bait, doomscrolling and algorithmic flattening that defines most of what we encounter online — and it’s building something entirely different in its place.
Stigmergy is essentially a hand-built, deliberately unscalable network of artists and media, stitched together through the traces left between them. Where the platforms we use every day are designed to maximise attention and keep us glued to our screens, this project goes the other direction entirely. The exhibition seeds a new kind of creative network, one constructed on artist-defined protocols rather than engagement metrics.

For RISING, the network goes live with both IRL and URL performances from local and international artists taking over the NCM space. Livestreamed acts from curatorial nodes based overseas will feed into the network in real time, collapsing geographic distance into something more immediate and collaborative. It’s part exhibition, part living infrastructure.
PSEUDO — the media studio behind the project, whose practice spans live performance, expanded cinema, sound and digital infrastructure — will also host a curators talk during the run. They’ll pull apart how the network was actually constructed, who was involved in building it and the values baked into its architecture from the ground up.
Stigmergy kicks off with an opening night event on 4 June before continuing its run through winter until 9 August. Tickets sit between $18 and $24.
