A new 160km hiking trail is opening up in the Grampians

You beauty!

Meet the Grampians Peak Trail, a new hiking track set to hit the region later this year. Becoming one of the longest trails in Victoria, this 160km wander through the wilderness will showcase the extreme beauty of the Grampians National Park in its entirety.

With the rugged mountain peaks of Mount Rosea in the distance, inspect Grand Canyon’s age-old rock features while also stopping by the Pinnacle Lookout to get a 360-degree view of the place. That’s just the beginning – this thing will unpack and excavate corners of the Grampians you won’t have seen before.

One section of trail is already open – a 36km, three-day circuit walk leaving from Halls Gap. The remaining sections of the track will be completed throughout the rest of 2020, with the entire 13-day, 160km exploration set to be unveiled later in the year.

Whilst extensive in its entirety, the trail will be split up into sections to cater for all calibre of walkers, whether it experienced hikers, independent wanderers or school groups.

Find out more about the trail via the Visit Grampians website.
