A huge street art auction is happening this weekend to raise money for bushfire relief

Featuring pieces by Banksy, Rone, Vincent Fantauzzo and more.

A massive auction, hosted by Melbourne art collectors Sandra Powell and Andrew King, will see almost 100 works from some of the biggest names in Australian and international street art up for grabs this weekend.

Held in partnership with auction house Leonard Joel, original works from renowned artists such as Vincent Fantauzzo, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Ron English and Unwell Bunny will go under the hammer to raise money for the State Government’s Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Known in the art world for championing street art, Powell and King will donate an original Banksy from their personal collection for the cause, with bids estimated to hit the $20,000 mark.

With a diverse spread of works up for auction and prices estimated to start at $500, The Bushfire Relief Auction is a must for art collectors and street art enthusiasts alike.

We couldn’t have a street art auction and not have a Banksy so Andrew and I have donated this Weston Super Mare print from our SANDREW collection for the Bushfire Appeal auction this Sunday. We decided that this image of an elderly person sitting on a bench, oblivious to the disaster about to unfold, was a fitting comment on climate change. (Our interpretation only and one of many) Its title brings back great memories for us as it is the town where Banksy staged his Dismaland Bemusment Park in 2015. It’s a place where old folk go for some sea air and so there is a lot of sitting around happening and not much action. Come and have a chat and view all the artworks this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm before our auction on Sunday at 6pm. We’ll see you there. There are no reserves for the art! 88 street artists are represented! Is this some record? Dig deep for a great cause and get yourself an amazing artwork. The catalogue is now online and the live auction will be held in the Melbourne rooms of @leonardjoelauctions on 16th February. Link in my bio. Amazing art – no commissions! 100% of all money raised will go to The Victorian Bushfire Appeal. #streetartbushfireappeal #streetart #bushfirefundraiser #bushfirereliefauction #bidforrelief #bidforrecovery #australianbushfires @banksy #banksy
