The original version of the game proved incredibly influential for the featured artists.
Time to grab your skateboard and do a heelflip 720 because a bunch of Aussie artists will be featuring on the new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster. For those who featured on the original soundtrack, it proved pivotal for their careers – the likes of Bodyjar, Goldfinger, Suicidal Tendencies and more benefited greatly for their inclusion on the game.
Now, with the release of the remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 imminent, the game has just announced the artists set to soundtrack the much-anticipated remake. And a bunch of Aussies are part of the troupe.
The likes of A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Alex Lahey, Baker Boy and DZ Deathrays will have their songs played on the worldwide release. They make up a huge list of artists also featuring nostalgic kings Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger, alongside Rage Against The Machine, FIDLAR, Millencolin, Viagra Boys, even hip hop legends A Tribe Called Quest and Naughty By Nature.
It comes after American video game developer, Vicarious Visions, announced they would be launching a remaster of the original first and second Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. The remaster will be released in September and will feature a bunch of new features including an online multiplayer option as well as new tricks, increased difficulty settings and much more.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be re-released on September 4.
