Skyline Attractions, behind the ferris wheels in St Kilda and Glenelg, has announced the construction of a new ferris wheel on the Yarra River.

Located on Polly Woodside Park, on the front lawn of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the new ferris wheel will be a third of the size of the Melbourne Star and located within a half-an-hour’s walk along the river from the Docklands observation wheel.

The 120-metre high Melbourne Star ferris wheel has been closed for two years after its owners went into liquidation. The new wheel will feature enclosed gondolas, offering views through modern clear perspex glass with dual sliding doors. Each gondola has a weight limit of 360 kilograms, with rides set to last for around eight to ten minutes.
