This Friday October 6 sees long-running techno institution When The Smoke Clears return to My Aeon. On board for this one is Jani Ho throwing down a live set, Consoles, Qualé, Matt Radovich, Azrin, PWD and Ranjit Nijjer. Born in Finland, veteran producer Jani Ho has cemented himself and his label Finn Audio at the heart of the Melbourne underground electronic scene since the ‘90s. With newcomer and one-to-watch Consoles also on board, it’s an eclectic mix of seasoned and fresh faces. Tickets on the door from 10pm.
In the city on Friday, Boney is hosting a little collaborative showcase of two upcoming labels Bones Rd. x Hometurf. After enjoying the company of each other at a spade of recent events, a friendship blossomed between the two label heads and they’ve decided to have a party to celebrate. On board is iconic duo 6AM at the Garage, one half of Potatoheadz Sam Sedgwick, tour de force Mike Nolan doing a live set, Van Oasis and Togar & Arro. Kicks off at 11pm.
Over at New Guernica on Friday, Melbourne’s loosest hip hop bangers night RE UP is back, this time featuring Matka, Koda, Manic Pixie, Sofie Roze, DJ Tranter plus Sezzo Snot, Jale and Rap Simons in the Kitchen.
On Saturday, Melbourne’s being treated to a rare and all new live-set from Sleep D at The Toff. Having founded the coveted Butter Sessions Records label, and played much-lauded live shows at Golden Plains and Inner Varnika festivals, the duo can apparently do no wrong with their blend of intergalactic Balearic acid house. Backing them up is extended Butter Sessions crew Rings Around Saturn b2b with Cale Sexton and Pjenné b2b with Millú. Early bird tickets are sold out, so get onto it quick. Kicks off at 11pm.
