Pleasure Dome

Can you give us a run through of the first episode of Pleasure Dome? The pilot of Pleasure Dome aims to invite the audience briefly into the world of its eight main characters. It treads lightly into themes of mental illness while maintaining a light and witty rapport between the eight friends.

You’re currently running a Pozible campaign in order to fund the series. What’s the go there? The pilot was completely funded by the core crew members and everyone was donating their time, skills and talents.  This is amazing as a starting point, but it’s definitely not a sustainable long term plan. The Pozible campaign (if successful) will allow us the freedom to dedicate ourselves to this project and make it as fantastic as we know it can be.

The soundtrack includes only local bands and artists, why was this choice made? Using only local, under represented musicians was part of the initial idea behind Pleasure Dome. We wanted to give these artists a platform for their music to be visually interpreted that perhaps wouldn’t have been available to them otherwise. For us, the soundtrack depicts the stories of these characters as much as the dialogue does.

What have we got to look forward to in future episodes? The first season of Pleasure Dome travels through themes of identity, sexuality, beers, gender fluidity, mental illness, death, dogs and a period blood incident.

What else can we do to support this project? Definitely head over to our YouTube channel and watch the pilot. Share it with your friends, listen to the bands, tell your mum about it and get your rich friends to give us money.
