The Graveyard Bar celebrates one year with a mystery-headliner weekender.
The Graveyard Bar, Melbourne’s grungiest little watering hole, is turning one, and it’s celebrating the only way it knows how: with a chaotic, band-packed weekender that spills across three days.
Graveyard is marking its first birthday with a sprawling weekender running from Friday 16 October through to Sunday 18 October, and the lineup reads like a fever dream scrawled on a tombstone.
Punters can expect heavy riffs, mystery guests, raffles and enough happy hour to make the whole thing blur together nicely.

Kicking things off at The Graveyard Bar on Friday 16 October is a bandroom session shrouded in secrecy, headlined by an as-yet-unnamed mystery act, with Dose, Criimes and The Bronze rounding out the bill.
Over in the main bar, Jungle Jim Smith will be keeping things moving from 7pm.
Saturday 17 October is where the birthday celebrations really hit their stride, with a huge 10-band bandroom lineup starting from midday.
Seedy Jeezus headline the Saturday charge, joined by Oceanlord, Machetez, Hail Freya, Neck of the Vulture, Dissect Me, Pointless Daggers, One Whole Hand, Kömune and Palliative.
Meanwhile, the main bar hosts its own lineup from 1:30pm, including Erik Parker, Karl (H-Block), The King G, James Silveria, Matilda, Max & Sam and James Coelli, plus a major prize raffle for those feeling lucky.
Sunday 18 October winds things down at The Graveyard Bar with a mellower main bar session from 2:30pm featuring Rusty Brown, Erin Kelly, Madigan’s Wake James & Leanne, and Dave & Johnny.
Whoever’s behind that Friday mystery slot, they’re keeping the neighbourhood guessing, and there’s every chance it’s someone worth losing your voice over. It’s the kind of stunt that suits a venue built on riffs and raffle tickets rather than polish.
Adding to the chaos is an all-weekend happy hour and an outdoor Japanese barbecue, so there’s plenty of fuel to get punters through three straight days of live music.
With support from Hawkers and Cedar Fox Distilling Co, this is shaping up as one of the more unhinged birthday parties on the Melbourne gig calendar this year.
