Melbourne's cheesiest, truffliest winter obsession is officially back at Queen Victoria Market.
Truffle season has well and truly arrived, and Queen Victoria Market isn’t being subtle about it.
Queen Victoria Market is going truffle mad this winter, launching the Truffle Treasures Trail with more than 30 delicious creations.
Running from mid-June until the end of August, the Truffle Treasures Trail turns the market into one of Melbourne’s biggest truffle playgrounds, headlined by the return of RIPE Cheese‘s beloved truffle toastie, back until the end of August and loaded with up to 12 grams of fresh Australian truffle shaved fresh every day.
The toastie racked up more than 6,000 serves last season, and RIPE’s line-up doesn’t stop there, with a share-friendly Truffle Fondue Baguette, truffles sold by weight and an Ultimate Truffle Experience package also on the menu.

The season also brings a run of cultural celebrations, including Taste of Portugal, Bastille Day festivities, the Cachivaches Latin Festival, the return of CRFT*WRK, the Melbourne Donut Festival and the ongoing Winter Night Market, giving visitors plenty of reasons to keep coming back across the colder months.
Queen Victoria Market CEO Matt Elliott says the Winter Series is really a celebration of the traders, makers and producers who give the market its character, noting that while truffles are the headline act this year, shoppers will also stumble across Australian-made fashion, local festivals and specialty traders they’ve never come across before.
