Brunswick Ballroom is bringing Melbourne Soul Weekender back for another killer night of rare soul this May.
Returning to Brunswick Ballroom, Melbourne Soul Weekender has been a fixture on the Australian soul scene since 2009, and it’s not hard to see why; this is one of the country’s premier rare soul events, drawing DJs and punters from interstate and overseas every year.
Dedicated entirely to original vinyl, the night spans decades of dancefloor gold, from 1960s up-tempo stormers through to modern soul cuts and everything in between.
This year’s lineup is stacked with some seriously talented selectors from across the country, making it a proper national gathering for soul heads.

Whether you’re a seasoned crate-digger or just someone who loves a good dance, Melbourne Soul Weekender reminds you why this music has never gone out of style.
Running annually on the last weekend of May, Melbourne Soul Weekender also holds a special place in the community; the event is dedicated to the memory of John Smoljo and Vera Sutcliffe, friends who are fondly remembered by the soul family they helped build.
If rare soul on original vinyl is your thing, or you’re keen to find out what all the fuss is about, this is the one to get along to.
