Off the back of a sold-out 2025 conference – which featured A2IM’s first ever Indie Week outside the United States – this year’s edition is shaping up to go even bigger. Last year’s program drew delegates from the US, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Europe and New Zealand across panels, workshops and conversations tackling everything from AI-era deal-making to back catalogue valuation and the push to scrap radio caps.
The 12 confirmed international speakers represent a serious cross-section of the global indie sector. Thaddeus Rudd from New York’s Mom+Pop (home to Courtney Barnett, Porter Robinson and Tash Sultana) joins reps from A2IM, the Worldwide Independent Network, Mexican Summer, and organisations spanning Sweden, Korea, Japan, Thailand and the US.
The full first-round speaker announcement includes Lisa Hresko (A2IM, USA), Ian Harrison (A2IM, USA), Thaddeus Rudd (Mom+Pop, USA), Jason Peterson (GoDigital, USA), Darlene Hall (Create Music Group, USA), Natalie Young (Bright Antenna, USA), Eva Karman Reinhold (SOM, Sweden), Marty Ro (Sound Republica, Korea), Takuya Yamazaki (IMCJ, Japan), Nerea Serrano (Worldwide Independent Network, Spain), Aaron Winning (IMAT, Thailand) and Joanie Eaton (Mexican Summer, UK). More names and program details are set to land in coming months.
Adelaide’s status as Australia’s first and only UNESCO City of Music makes it a fitting base for the gathering, with the South Australian Government continuing its support of the event. Sofitel Adelaide has also been announced as the conference’s preferred hotel partner, with a limited number of discounted rooms available for delegates.
