Basement cocktail bar in Melbourne Mr Mills is launching a summer music program featuring local selectors, DJs and curators across December and into the new year. Running in partnership with HYDE Melbourne Place and Untitled Group, the Mr Mills summer series brings established and emerging talent to the Russell Street venue every Thursday and Friday night.
No Requests Radio opens proceedings on Friday 5 December with their underground sounds and forward-leaning selections. December’s lineup spans genre-bending acts including Mothafunk & Eva, Veer East, Sal & Navi and Ānanda across alternating Thursday and Friday slots throughout the month.

New Year’s Eve sees Baby Oliv team up with Cabu for a back-to-back set blending genre-fluid selections with house and electronic grooves influenced by soul, R&B and hip-hop. Full set times and additional DJ announcements will roll out through Mr Mills’ social channels and website as summer progresses.
Located beneath Marmelo, this cocktail bar in Melbourne operates as an intimate late-night space known for modern cocktails and Iberian-influenced bites. The basement setting creates an energetic atmosphere for the city’s after-dark crowd, with the new music series adding another layer to the venue’s existing offerings.
Ross Lusted from Marmelo and Mr Mills describes the partnership with Untitled Group as a natural progression for the cocktail bar in Melbourne, positioning it as a destination for nightlife throughout summer. Programming aims to showcase the city’s diverse selector scene across electronic, house, hip-hop and soul-influenced sounds.
Each takeover brings a different energy to the space, with collectives and individual artists putting their stamp on Thursday and Friday nights. Veer East’s 12 December slot and Ānanda’s 19 December appearance represent two of the headline takeovers, while the Mothafunk & Eva pairing and Sal & Navi duo round out mid-month programming.
Summer series details and updates continue through Mr Mills’ digital channels as additional dates and performers get confirmed.
The venue remains open Tuesday through Saturday with standard hours maintained alongside the new Thursday and Friday night music program.
