Wrestling meets comedy game shows in this weird and wonderful Melbourne residency starting this month.
WrestleBrainia is setting up shop at the Bergy Bandroom for SundaySlam, a new residency kicking off later this month. The live wrestling comedy game show will run across two remaining dates in October and November, promising different games and surprise guests at each performance.
The show bills itself as the only live wrestling comedy game show in the world, mixing trivia, games and wrestling action into one chaotic evening. WrestleBrainia has built a following among comedy and wrestling fans over the years, with past appearances from names like Rove McManus, Robbie Eagles, Broden Kelly from Aunty Donna, Gino Gambino from NJPW, triple j’s Dave Woodhead and Dane Simpson.

This residency format gives the team room to try new things while keeping the unpredictable energy that’s become their trademark. Each night will feature fresh content, with no two shows running the same lineup or games. The SundaySlam residency includes WrestleBrainia regulars Geoff, Brose and Beau Stegman, with sports radio figure Tont Schibeci stepping in for one performance. Guest appearances are locked in from The Clydsdale, Camby, Jab, The Musketeer, Tarlee, Jimmy Eaton, Jaymie Wilson, Matthew Hustwaite and Matt Elsbury, with additional surprises still to be revealed.
Tickets are $28.05 including booking fees and are available exclusively through OzTix. The shows cater to dedicated wrestling enthusiasts and complete newcomers alike, with the format designed to work whether you know your dropkicks from your clotheslines or you’re just there for the laughs.
WrestleBrainia has carved out a niche by combining two seemingly disparate worlds into something that works for both audiences. The format invites people into wrestling fandom through comedy, games and trivia rather than requiring existing knowledge of the sport. The residency approach at the Bergy Bandroom allows the creators to develop more experimental content while maintaining the spontaneous spirit that’s attracted appearances from Australian comedy and wrestling personalities over the years.
