The regional tour will include first-ever shows in Mildura and Tamworth, marking significant milestones for the band. After nearly a decade away, The Smith Street Band will also return to beloved venues in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Rockhampton and Mackay.
Lead singer Wil Wagner describes Star Child as a reflection on life’s journey and finding happiness through fatherhood. The track explores themes of perspective gained through age and experience, built around the opening line about seeing many highways before finding exactly where he needs to be.
The upcoming album continues The Smith Street Band’s streak of critically acclaimed releases, following Life After Football which became a triple j Feature Album in 2022, and Don’t Waste Your Anger which reached number one on the ARIA charts in 2020.
Tickets for the regional tour go on sale Thursday 31 July from 9am through the band’s official website.
