St Kilda’s favourite music hall is back with another month of unmissable gigs featuring all your favourite songs, only at Memo.
It’s cover bands galore at Memo Music Hall this month. Everyone from Amy Winehouse to INXS to Cyndi Lauper is making an appearance on the setlist. If any venue knows how to honour your favourite artists, it’s undoubtedly Memo.
But wait – there’s more. October also features a good dose of original content, from album anniversaries to local rock’n’rollers to a couple of cousins. And if you have a hankering to do the time warp again, Memo has got you covered with that too.

Amy Winehouse Show: Back to Black

Calling all Amy Winehouse fans, and everyone else. Atlanta Coogan and the Back to Black Band are hitting the Memo stage in celebration of the Amy Winehouse biopic that swept through cinemas earlier this year. This tribute night to the late and great superstar will honour Amy’s legacy with all the classics, as well as some special covers of other beloved artists. You can expect a bit of Valerie, a dash of What Is It About Men, and even some extra special Monkey Man.
The Yachtski Brothers

Uncover the sweet sounds of the late ‘70s with a cover band that will transport Memo Music Hall right back in time. The Yachtski Brothers know how to party like it’s 1979, with all your favourites from the era of Toto and Prince. DJ Winston will also join the Brothers on the bill for a very special set this Saturday in October.
A Century of Women in Song

Ferro-cious Entertainment is presenting Nina Ferro and her 7-piece band as they celebrate influential female artists from the 20th century. This show sets out to pay tribute to the trailblazers and industry-leaders who paved the way for other women to follow and make their own marks on the music scene. Come along to hear Nina play all your classic favourite songs by female artists, as well as discover some new ones.
Dave Graney and The Mistly

Get ready to rock on this Friday night in October at Memo’s Ember Lounge with this show from Dave Graney and The Mistly. Listeners are in for a treat as the musicians gear up to present songs from across their discography. The room will be lit alive with sound and colour, energy and fire. This is one not to be missed.
Landdownunder: When Australian Music Took On the World

It’s no secret that Aussies blew up the music charts of the ‘70s and ‘80s. From Midnight Oil to INXS, Kylie Minogue to Olivia Newton John, musicians from the land down under dominated the global music industry. For this very special night in October, Landdownunder will be playing all the greatest hits of your favourite Aussie artists. Featuring Dave Leslie, Scott Griffiths, Gaz Brown, Peter Robertson, Pete Newson, Bernadeta Griffiths and Jimi Hocking, this will be a night for anyone who loves a bit of homegrown music.
Taxiride Imaginate 25th Anniversary Show

Hail a taxi quick and get to this gig at Memo on October 18 – Taxiride are back. Celebrating 25 years of the album that started it all, Taxiride are bringing their debut record Imaginate to Memo Music Hall for some very lucky listeners. The performance will include the entirety of the album, plus a few rare tracks, alongside some greatest hits.
The Dusty Springfield Show

Hailed as one of Britian’s greatest female pop stars, Wendy Stapleton is bringing Dusty Springfield to life atop the Memo Music Hall stage. Dusty’s heartbreaking voice will be transported across time and distance to find a home with Wendy in St Kilda, ready to break your heart all over again. If you’re a Dusty fan, this one’s for you.
A Couple of Cupples

A Couple of Cupples is exactly what it sounds like. Cousins Peter and Jimmy Cupples are bringing their family affair to Memo and will be alighting the stage with their genetic talent. Singing together for a spectacular treat of a show, Jimmy and Peter will be joined by the King Canyon band.
Artists for Kids Culture: Art Auction 2024

Artists for Kids Culture is celebrating 30 years of joining forces with Australian artists to raise funds for children experiencing hardship. The Art Auction is a great event to get down for, with some terrific art on display and the wonderful Dylan Lewis on MC duties. Comedian Meg Jager and musical guest Kutcha Edwards will also be joining in on the night’s proceedings.
