They’ve already raised over $9,000 for Support Act.
As musicians and music industry workers face significant income losses and indefinite unemployment as a result of mass event cancellations and venue closures, Angie McMahon and her manager Charlotte Abroms have launched a fundraiser to help those facing financial hardship.
The pair have already raised over $9,000 since launching the fundraiser yesterday, with all proceeds to be donated to Support Act, an Australian charity dedicated to providing emergency relief to artists, crew and music workers.
“Australian music workers are part of one of the most vulnerable industries when it comes to job stability and mental wellbeing,” said Abroms on Instagram.
“As seen in the response to the bushfire crisis recently, the Australian music industry raised millions of dollars to help our country in crisis. In the wake of COVID-19 and event cancellations, our industry is now facing a crisis itself,” she added.
“Many people in our industry have lost income, some affected more dramatically than others. Please help to keep our music industry alive.”
