It’s easy being green.
World Vegan Day is right around the corner and you can be damn sure Melbourne is throwing a party to celebrate. Taking place Sunday November 10, the mammoth event will be jam-packed with mouthwatering treats, plenty of live music, workshops, speakers and stalls to peruse.
Event organisers Malia May and Mark Doneddu say the vegan lifestyle saves human lives and the environment — no doubt something to consider in today’s political climate.
“This year we are celebrating the theme ‘their future is in our hands’,” May and Doneddu said.
“This brings together a conversation and awareness of the positive impacts of going vegan for the animals, the environments and children of the future.”
It wouldn’t be a celebration without food, which is why Burgerama, Fork Mama, The Pham Sisters and plenty more food stalls are making an appearance at this year’s extravaganza. If you’re on the lookout for a new summer fashion outfit, ethical retailers Indigo Luna, Moral Fibre and Hammerhead Threads will be there to jazz up your wardrobe with a brand new piece (or two). While you browse, be sure to soak up the tunes of indie rocker Charlie Lane, shoegaze trio Isn’t and folk singer-songwriter Davy Simony throughout the day.
