7 reasons why you cant miss The xx this summer

It will be in summer outside in the open air at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. We know it’s hard to imagine it now, but you’ve got an ice cold drink in hand, it’s a warm night and the music is glorious.

They are bringing some very cool people along for the ride. Case in point, Earl Sweatshirt of Odd Future and RnB star Kelela. Three killer artists for the price of one.

For every ticket sold, $1 will be donated to local LGBT+ organisations in partnership with PLUS1. Good music with a side of goodwill is exactly what we need at this time.

The possibility of a collab is very enticing. There is a chance that The xx, Earl Sweatshirt and electro soul princess Kelela will treat audiences to a very special one-off performance together.

It’s their first headline shows down here since 2013 and the band is stronger than ever.  With a new sense of synergy Romy, Oliver and Jamie are bringing the heat with a refreshing blend of indie rock, electro pop and RnB.

If their Splendour set is anything to go by, we’re bloody excited. The xx brought the heat in a big way. Splendour FOMO may be redeemed here.

New hits and old classics. Sing-a-longs will likely be prevalent. Fingers crossed the band will play their treasured favourites – we’re holding out for Crystalised, Angels and Loud Places.
