60 Seconds With…The Elliots

So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

G’day. We are The Elliotts. My name is Jimmy, I play acoustic guitar.

What do you reckon people will say you sound like?

Indie rock and bubblegum pop.

What do you love about making music?

Initially we all got into music because we thought girls were impressed by this kind of stuff, but then we realized that it so much fun that we now do it for real.

What do you hate about the music industry?

Receiving parking fines for loading into gigs. You get all upset and imagine yourself catching the officer putting a fine on your windscreen to tear him a new one, and then when you actually catch them they are always so lovely. How can you shout at them for just doing their job?

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

I would absolutely show Natalie Imbruglia our music. While I’m there, I would ask her for coffee, because I love her.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Bright colors, cheesy dance moves and a butt load of indie pop tunes. Oh and don’t forget our ridiculous banter.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

Two EPs, Warriors and Aeroplane, the latter being our brand new one with the best songs we have ever written on it.
