60 Seconds With… Shadowqueen

shadowqueen.jpg

What’s your name then?

Robbi, Si and Alex.

Oh, and the name of your band.

Shadowqueen.

And what do you do?

We play rock‘n’roll the old fashion way… with instruments.

When did you start doing that?

We got together back in January 2010.

Why did you start doing that?

We liked the sound the three of us produced.

Do you think you’re good at doing that?

I think it sounds pretty good and we’re getting better at it!

If you weren’t doing that, what would you be doing?

We’d be doing music in some form. When it’s a part of who you are, you really don’t have a choice.

What makes you happiest about what you’re doing?

Creating. I think the happiest part is when we write something that makes us all smile uncontrollably.

And what makes you unhappiest about what you’re doing?

That we don’t get to do it as often as we’d like because life gets in the way.

What’s you proudest moment of doing what you do?

I’d say listening back to the recording of our latest single. Burning was a pretty proud moment for us.

And your least proud?

Breaking some part of our instruments at every gig!

When are you doing your thing next?

Our next gig is Sunday September 14 at Rockacabana. We will be celebrating the release of our new single along with the launch of this new original rock music night with a host of great bands at the Copacabana International.

SHADOWQUEEN are tearing it up at Rocacabana on Sunday September 14, at the Brunswick Hotel on Friday September 26, at Star Bar on Saturday September 27, at Cherry Bar on Tuesday September 30, and Lucky 13 on Friday October 10.
