What do you hate about the music industry? …

So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

"Our bands called Sabrina & The Red Vans. I’m Sabrina Sandapa; I sing and play a little uke and guitar."

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like ?

"Hmmm… I guess you could draw little similarities to Betty LaVette with a pinch of Janis."

What do you love about making music?

"Being able to do what I love with an awesome band."

What do you hate about the music industry?

"There a few things! But I must say the main one is money… most great musicians in Melbourne play amazing gigs around the country and still have to hold full time jobs to make ends meet."

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

"Prince about 15 years ago… back when he was still about the bedroom and not about the book."

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

"Richard Harris and his song MacArthur Park… who leaves cakes out in the rain, seriously?"

What can a punter expect from your live show?

"A tasteful mix of rock and soul with the myself and The Red Vans who include Greg Whitehead on guitar, Suzanne Kinsella on bass and Teal Bain-Roben on drums."

What ‘ve you got to sell CD-wise?

"EP- Mirror Mirror by Sabrina which is available at JB Hi Fi, iTunes etc, through MGM. We are currently recording and should have the album out late this year."

When’s the gig and with who?

"Queen Victoria Market on Wednesday February 2 at 7.50pm with The OMGs. Come on down… I once did it on The Price is Right, and didn’t win…"
