Do your dreams ever influence your music?
My fucked-up brain pretty much only generates nightmares, almost never dreams. They’re definitely reflections of my deep-seated fears, which do come out in songs eventually.
If you could play any instrument in the world, what would be it?
Violin. I tried to teach myself for a while years ago, but I get frustrated when I’m not good at something so I gave up.
How did you all meet? What was it that brought the band together?
Matty (drums) and Shaun (guitar/vox) have been friends since primary school. They played in Aitches together, and after they disbanded Shaun and Matt wanted to continue playing music together. Jai (bass) has been a mate of ours for ages, and I (Em) was living with Shaun at the time. My man dobbed me in for being able to sing and that was the last piece of the puzzle.
If you had to play a completely different genre of music to what you do now, what would it be? Why?
I’ve always wanted to be in a hardcore band. I wish I could growl so badly. I love hip hop as well, it’s something I’d love to pursue in some sense at some point. For that I need to get better at writing more words per song.
If you could be signed with any label in the world, which would it be and why?
We’re signed with Arrest Records in Brisbane. Greg Bower is our label dad whom we love dearly, we have amazing bands as part of our label family, there’s nowhere we’d rather be.
