So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

We’re called Impossible Odds and I write and perform as an MC…. Rival MC

What do you reckon people will say you sound like?

In terms of my voice, I’ve been compared to “Henry Rollin’s cepthiphopier” and also as “having the subtlety of Kev Carmody”.

What do you love about making music?

The thought processes and creativity that goes into the writing process. I believe a word can paint a thousand pictures. Also seeing the emotions conveyed in the song being experienced by the audience and that whole connection.

What do you hate about the music industry?

Promoters who do the pay dodge. Need I say any more than that, it sucks!

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

Bob Marley, I think he’d get what I’m trying to bring to the table in terms of social commentary. The times may have changed since Marley’s day but there’s plenty that gets slept on today by society. Like The Herd told you a few moons ago now, “this country needs to wake up”.

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

Probably Rebecca Black, I have never, ever disliked a song more than that bloody Friday track.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Something that you would have never ever expected could come out of the Brisbane Hip Hop scene. Dope hip hop with positive message and a banging beat and soul like you couldn’t imagine.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

Our debut album Against All Odds in stores and on iTunes now, through MGM & Impossible Odds Records.

When’s the gig and with who?

Saturday the November 5 upstairs at The Laundry Bar in Fitzroy with The Last Kinection, Omar Musa, Luka Lesson, Prophet Rayza and EMR.
