So then, w hat’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?
Chaos Divine, and I’m the guitarist
W hat do you reckon people will say you sound like?
We have been compared to a large list of various bands given our diverse style, but more commonly bands such as Opeth, Tool, Soilwork, Katatonia and Porcupine Tree.
What do you love about making music?
The possibilities that exist to take songs we write in different directions, and bring in a range of different styles, along with nailing a good catchy melody!
What do you hate about the music industry?
A common thing that seems to exist for all facets of the music industry – talented artists that get overlooked for those who just happen to know people in the right places. Just like the saying goes: It’s not what you know, it’s how much cock you can suck.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?
Personally it would be David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, right around the time of Roger Water’s departure, in the hope I’d get the gig!
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it be and why?
I’d say Nickelback, but they are pretty good at dying all by themselves on stage.
What can a punter expect from your live show?
Lots of material from our new album and our first ever gig at the Espy. The opportunity to get a drink in your hand and bang your head.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?
Our latest album The Human Connection, out nationally through Firestarter Music and available on iTunes International.
When’s the gig and with who?
Sonic Forge Festival this Saturday November 26 at the Esplanade Hotel, St Kilda.
