What inspired you to apply for Melbourne Music Bank?

I was inspired to apply for Melbourne Music Bank because it’s a wonderful opportunity and if you’re successful it can be a foundation for your entire music career.

What is your goal as a future musician?

My goal as a future musician is to be able to create music that will be remembered: music that could be considered timeless.

Who is your favourite music artist and why?

At the moment, Nai Palm from Hiatus Kaiyote. Vocally, she’s unbelievable. I love how the band experiments with strange timing and how their music is about feeling. I also admire how they are a fusion of different styles, this makes them sound unique.

What sort of themes do you want to explore in your music?

When writing music I like to explore subjects that I can deeply relate to so that when I perform, it’s authentic and comes from the heart.

What sort of impact are you hoping your music will make on listeners/other music artists in the world?

I hope that my music impacts on listeners by conjuring up some sort of emotion and leaves them captivated, wanting to hear more.

What do you love the most about making music?

I love that music is subjective. The passion, feeling and emotion that I may put into a piece of music can be portrayed completely differently when listened to by another person.
