As festival season quickly approaches, it's time to buckle down and listen to some Aussie icons in the techno scene.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve seen the enormous rise of electronic and DJs here down under. The electric music scene in Australia is becoming just as powerful as it is back in Europe.
This is mainly due to some iconic, groundbreaking artists we have here at home who are constantly pushing the boundaries and blessing us with the most mind-melting jams they possibly can.
So, if you want to go to one of the many electronic festivals this year but don’t know where to start, take this as your chance to discover some of Australia’s best and brightest.

X CLUB
Although currently based in the UK, this production duo are two born-and-bred Brissy boys. Their tracks are heavily inspired by ’90s techno as well as European drum ‘n’ bass. After beginning their careers separately, the duo discovered how well their sounds blended and decided to join forces. This partnership led them to start their own record label, Hide The Junk. Catch them at Let Them Eat Cake 2025.
Sam Alfred
Playing jazz-tipped house, deep cuts and UK garage, Sam Alfred keeps his tracks fun and fast. After listening to classical music when he was younger, he began his journey into music and playing around with different genres. Playing gigs at pitch and interstate solidified his following. See him in action at BTV and Wildlands this summer.
STÜM
Hailing from Melbourne, STÜM provides the perfect fusion of trance and techno, and is one of the most multi-faceted Australian DJs on the list. He founded his record label Happy Wax Records and made a name for himself in the fashion world with his clothing brand of the same name. After closing out BTV 2023, his next sets will be at RADAR Festival and Let Them Eat Cake.
6 SENSE
Melbourne-born and raised duo 6 SENSE are quickly becoming the ones to watch. After playing at BTV and heading out on tour, these boys are setting their sights on Pitch 2025, where they are sure to bring the house down with their high energy and groovy production.
Pretty girl
Working as a producer, vocalist and DJ, Pretty Girl truly is a triple threat. Her music is known for its wild infusions of hypnotic house, UKG and techno, all mixed with her dreamy vocals. Hailing from Melbourne, she sold out her headline show and performed to a crowd of 6000 people at Boiler Room. See her this festival season at Lost Paradise and Let Them Eat Cake.
Laura King
Fusing Aussie bush vibes with nostalgic futuristic sounds and contemporary hard dance, Laura King uses her impressive skills to keep Aussies up to date with what’s hot in the music scene. Adding some old-school groove, hip-hop vocals and drum ‘n’ bass, her music combines all things fast, quirky and bottom-heavy. She’ll be playing at BTV and DREAMSTATE 2025.
Denim
From touring internationally as Mallrat’s DJ to playing at iconic festivals Beyond The Valley and Splendor in the Grass, this producer from Queensland currently resides in Melbourne as has built herself a cult following. Known for her dynamic style and thumping bass, she’s one to follow. See her in action at BTV.
Aldonna
With a love for the early ’90s and ’00s, Aldonna’s discography is nostalgic bliss. The multi-hyphenated artist finds a perfect mix of trance and house in her music, one that has landed her massive opportunities touring around the world. Following her success, she started her vinyl label Re-Leaf Records and is set to continue blowing our minds at Refresh NYD.
Roza Terenzi
From starting her legacy down under to kicking it with Berlin’s best, Roza Terenzi is creating the hypnotic sapphic cyber tracks of your dreams. Crafting a truly unique sound of her own, Terenzi is hard to put into a category, but a fun-loving, confident and somewhat chaotic vibe will always be found at the core of her music. Catch her at Let Them Eat Cake this NYD.
Osmosis Jones
This Melbourne producer and DJ might just be the next king of garage. After falling in love with the UK sound, Osmosis Jones made a name for himself in the music scene and continues to play at iconic Melbourne venues like The Night Cat and The Gasometer. While originally creating house-based tracks, his transition into garage is what put him on the radar of so many music lovers, making him one of the most buzz-worthy Australian DJs right now.
