The site occupied by Fog Bar and Restaurant has always housed the area's coolest bars. Before this incarnation, those who can remember will recall the venue played host to Blu Pols, a bar and restaurant of enviable standing. Not much has changed since then, as Fog has managed to fill the rather stylish shoes of Blu Pols just nicely. Merging fine dining with high-class drinking, Fog is a very serious start, middle or end to any evening out. Pass through the restaurant proper (or not, as the menu can be quite enticing) and you'll find yourself in the bar area. Sure, $10 cocktails (every day from 5-7pm) are bound to bring in the masses, but the stylish interior of black lacquer, dark suede and polished marble will keep you on well after happy hour concludes. Heavy emphasis is given to cocktails here, with staff more than happy to recommend a drink from the long cocktail list, or perhaps even mix you up a new creation all your own. The cafe at the front of the venue is also the ideal spot for a mid-week lunch (of the liquid variety), all served with a healthy amount of people watching. Choose from the large range of local and import beers (bottle and tap), or delve into the wine list for a more serious luncheon. With wines perfectly matched to every meal choice, you won't be disappointed.
