Bridie O'Reilly's Brunswick
Last time we checked, Ireland wasn't home to any moose. Not native ones anyway. Obviously the interior design team at Bridie's missed that memo, because they've gone and mounted two GIANT moose heads on the walls. When you combine this with the liberally scattered palms and chesterfield couches, the venue has much more of a colonial feel than anything resembling an Irish pub. Indeed, it's like an Irishmen went to North America to shoot moose before exporting them to Africa and opening a pub. Or something like that. Although the decor isn't really 'correct' in any Irish sense of the word, it does give the place a unique charm. It's certainly more interesting than your typical Irish pub. It's also more spacious with two separate bars, a selection of comfortable booths, ample couches, an informal dining area and one of the areas biggest beer gardens about - which is usually the place to be come the warmer months. With 17 beers on tap, the obligatory Guinness selection, monthly beer specials and a relaxed, informal atmosphere, Bridie's is ideal for after work drinks and casual meals with friends. Irish pubs may be a cliche, but this one is just kooky enough to stand out from the crowd, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
