The Smith Street Band have announced a huge national tour in support of their upcoming album More Scared of You Than You Are of Me. With support from Joyce Manor, Ceres and Allison Weiss, the tour will hit up all major cities, with a Melbourne show at The Forum on Saturday June 3. "For this tour, we’re playing the venues that we have always dreamed of playing: we chose big, beautiful theatres because we want these to be big, beautiful shows," frontman Wil Wagner explains. "We've also expanded our show in order to fully bring these songs to life, this tour is our most ambitious, exciting one yet." Tickets for all shows are on sale now. More Scared of You Than You Are of Me will be released on Friday April 7 via the band’s own Pool House Records.

Metallic hardcore lords Integrity have reportedly finished recording their new album. The record is expected to be released later this year via Relapse Records, following up their 2014 Beyond the Realm of the Witch single.

Long-running pop punks Screeching Weasel have announced they will be releasing a documentary on the band. Currently in production, the film will aim to involve all current and past members of the band and sum up the Chicago band’s 30 year history. The band has also released a message encouraging all fans to share any archival or unreleased footage they may have.

New supergroup Dreamcar, featuring Davey Havok of AFI and all non-Gwen Stefani members of No Doubt have released their debut single. Entitled Kill For Candy, the song is a slick ‘80s new wave/pop number, not dissimilar to AFI’s recent worship of The Cure. The band’s full length debut album will be released on Friday May 12

In action packed news, news reports in Los Angeles indicate that Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge was involved in a police car chase. Driving through Redondo Beach, Dragge reportedly saw the flashing lights of a police car chasing a suspect behind him. Dragge then pulled onto the middle of the road to get out of the way, but didn’t have enough space to make a u-turn in his large truck. Blocking the flow of traffic, the car chase suspect came to a stop with a flat tire and ran to Dragge’s truck to try and carjack it. However once seeing the 6’5” 300lb guitarist, the suspect immediately changed his mind and got back into his original car. Police later safely apprehended the suspect. No one was hurt in the incident. I reckon Fletcher should have beat him up though, that would have been badass.

Hardcore powerhouse Converge have announced the finalisation of the release of a live recording of their 2001 groundbreaking album Jane Doe. Recorded live last year at Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands, the live set marked the first time that the critically acclaimed album was played in full. The album will be available on CD/LP and digital formats via Deathwish. It’s currently streaming in full on their Bandcamp page.
