DESECRATOR

Name: “DESECRATOR.”

Define your genre in five words or less:

“Aussie thrash attack!!”

How long have you been gigging and writing?

“Desecrator have been playing live for a bit over a year now.”

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

“We did a Geelong/Perth/Darwin in a weekend run as part of ‘The Thrashening’ national tour we are currently on, with In Malice’s Wake. It was a hectic weekend of airports, no hotels and a helluva lot of thrash that we will always remember.”

In playing shows, or even simply heading out in general, how do you plan on getting home safely?

“As a band there is always gear that needs to be loaded and transported…so a level of responsibility is always around. Or whoever pulls the shortest straw stays sober!”

What do you think about the idea of the ‘designated driver’, or loading into a taxi, to get home after a show?

“I think make life simple by not doing dumb things that threaten to end it.”

Do you have any releases to date? What? Where can I get it? Is it good?

“Our EP is available at independent record shops in Melbourne… but we have just finished mixing our debut album, which was recorded live at the sadly now-deceased Arthouse Hotel and mixed in Germany by Harris Johns (Kreator). It will be launched August 20 at Cherry bar with some other great thrash metal bands.”

When and where are you playing next?

“The final show of this tour is at The Tote Hotel on Sunday June 12, with a public holiday the next day, a BBQ and heaps of killer, hard-working bands both local and interstate, it’s gonna be a heavy as hell show!
